Review: HP 250 G7 – A Budget Business Laptop?
If you are in a searching enigma of finding a laptop that both satisfies the budget and provides powerful performance, the HP 250 G7 makes it up to the criteria. Most of the laptops that come in rival with this laptop have relatively pricey package while offering the same features. This laptop has been launched with multiple processor options, but we are reviewing core-i7 model today which seems to be best out of all. We’ll have to see whether it’s one of the credible HP laptops or not.
The HP 250 totally stands out in providing a compelling reliability with its Intel Core-i7 and great selection of other tech features. Although the screen will not give you a premium feel and you might get a cheaper vibe for its screen, but it still doesn’t lie below the edge. The SSD options have been kept wisely to get your everyday tasks done without any slowdown and battery life also performs well.
If you need a workhorse that encapsulates all essential requirements within its entire hardware in a budget-friendly price, then this laptop might be the one for you. However, for an in-depth review let's just get started!

Design & Build
HP has kept this model’s design very simple and easy-to-use. Despite of getting a plastic body, you don’t feel any roughness in the casing with overall gray packaging and some black parts. Only the screen panel and keyboard are in the black shade. We don’t see a modern design layout here which is in trend these days i.e. the narrow bezels, but we get improved key options in its keyboard.
The keyboard is same as predecessor but the keys have long travel and tactile feedback, making it easier to type and work with. HP doesn’t try to showcase the laptop more than its price tag in case of its design and keeps a very basic build all-over.
This laptop weighs no more than 1.78 kg with a 22.5 mm thickness, which isn’t a heavy weight for its screen size. This makes it an enough portable device for casual use. After we checked, this laptop wasn’t as heavy as it might seem to you. Clearly, it won’t feel a burden in your hands. HP has also changed the speaker position on the base and has rather housed it across the base which makes the sounds clearer.
As we mentioned earlier, the display has been kept very basic with 15.6-inch screen and thus doesn’t lead just as we could expect from this budget laptop. This HP laptop uses TN panel for its display which makes the viewing angles uncomfortable. We weren’t totally satisfied with the screen and would give it the one and only drawback of this device. However, if you are not concerned too much about the screening, then there wouldn’t be any huge problem.
Even though, the specs of screen on paper look appealing and good enough, they don’t impress thoroughly. You get an HD Resolution of 1366 x 768 but the colour brightness and performance is weak covering 53% sRGB. The maximum brightness it offers us is around 260cd/m with an average contrast. The screen overall could have been better with an IPS Panel, but its manageable with the price.
Undoubtedly, the HP 250 G7 leads all the way out in its performance, whether you talk about the processing capability, hard drive capacity or storage maintenance. It can be listed as one of the best durable HP laptops considering its speed and processing. You will be able to handle your indefinite tasks easily with its super-efficient core-i7 processor by Intel.
The components attached with its processor include sufficient RAM of 8GB that supports 256 GB Solid State Drive storage. They turn out to be the best combination with excellent functioning for all complex applications or any heavy voltage software. Either you are a multi-media user, an editing professional or a high tech employee; this laptop can run all demanding programs reluctantly.
The graphics equipped in this model are Integrated Graphics by Intel that support adequate usage of games, media files or video applications like Netflix or twitch. It isn’t over the top but it holds a great support of other features so you wouldn’t have to worry about any lagging when you need to binge-watch videos or edit hefty media photos.
Battery & Connectivity
The battery backup HP 250 G7 delivers us is durable with 41Wh battery and unexpectedly runs up to 8-9 hours. The maximum brightness of screen will not affect the battery greatly, keeping it to minimal 6 hours of battery life. So, you can expect an averagely decent battery performance with it.
The selection of ports is done sensibly in this model, where HP equips us with wide variety of ports. You get a full-sized Ethernet port here with an HDMI and a full capacity SD card slot. Also, the USB ports include two USB 2.0 ports, one USB 3.0 ports and an RJ-45 as well.
Overall, we rate this HP laptop to be the best budget laptop for business users, heavy duty employees and students who need to work every day with a good mainframe. This laptop delivers exceptional performance with its core-i7, even though the screen disappoints a little. You can get this laptop in £659.98, which is a budget-friendly price when it comes to business laptops. If you reside in UK, you can also browse through our exclusive range of HP laptops.
